- Using your completed intake form, I will evaluate your medical history, pregnancy, and labor outcomes. Lactation is a continuation of pregnancy so the things that occur during your pregnancy and labor can have an impact on breastfeeding/chestfeeding.
- Observe a feed if your baby is awake and ready!
- Perform a latch assessment and evaluation
- Assess for tongue and lip ties if it is indicated and make referrals to pediatric dentists, Speech Language Pathologists (SLP), and Myofunctional Therapist for diagnosis and treatment
- Consult on next steps, helping you to achieve your feeding goals
- Develop a plan of care based on your history, symptoms, and individual life circumstances, and send it to you within 24 hours of your appointment.
- Follow up with you in the agreed-upon time, review your plan, see what is working/not working, revise the plan, and schedule a second appointment if needed.
